The After Midnight Art Ranch is located in beautiful Sonoita, Arizona.
Linda and Tom Hanson fell in love with the Midnight Art Ranch as soon as they saw it.
It was clear that this was the perfect setting for hosting the art retreats they dreamed of.

Located in a high valley surrounded by the Santa Rita, Huachucha, Mustang, Empire and Whetstone Mountains, vast grasslands and cienegas, with wonderful blue skies and wide-open spaces, this magnificent setting will delight your senses. Longhorn cattle, horses, alpaca, and herds of Pronghorn antelope surround you.

Out on those high plains, vineyards have made Sonoita Arizona's own little wine country. Set in rolling grasslands dotted with white oak, the soil is nearly identical to that of Burgundy, France. We are proud to serve the wonderful, award winning local wines, perfect for sipping outside around the firepit while enjoying stimulating conversation with your fellow artists.

Sonoita's elevation, at approximately 5,000 feet above sea level, creates warm days and comfortable cool nights. The summer-fall daytime temperatures average between 80-95F.

If you find this all looks familiar to you, it may be because filmmakers have chosen the area's old west atmosphere and beauty for several films including "Oklahoma," "Red River," "Tin Cup," "The Young Guns," "The Fantastiks," and the television show, "The Young Riders."

The nearby Empire Ranch is the destination for one of the "field trips" planned for the retreats!

Listed in the National Register of Historic Places, The Empire Ranch House is a 22-room adobe and wood frame building which dates to 1870. The ranch sits at the heart of the 42,000-acre Las Cienegas National Conservation Area.

Bring your camera! There are some great photo opportunities. The old doors and windows are a joy to behold.

Las Cienegas National Conservation Area is a world class birding spot! Elegant trogons, which are among the most beautiful of southern Arizona's rare birds, have been seen. Over 170 species of birds have been identified on the NCA by members of the Audubon Society and other volunteers.

Our next stop on the adventure is Patagonia. Patagonia is a delighful small town with many interesting galleries and shops.

You won't want to miss La Galeria Dia de los Muertos.

Tubac is another amazing town for gallery hopping and sight-seeing.

After Midnight is proud to be the USA distributor for Opals embossing enamels and the Krafty Lady Art Moulds.
