Double Batik by Lea Everse Using regular cheap computer paper, stamp and emboss images using pigment inks and clear powder. Spritz with water and then drop or rub dye inks all over the paper to completely cover the sheet. Let dry. In subsequent projects, I have also used liquid watercolors and iridescent calligraphy inks in place of the dye reinkers....I'm wondering if you couldn't use any kind of water based colors for this step Sandwich the stamped sheet between two pieces of newsprint (or use old phonebook pages) and iron to remove all of the embossing powder. You may have to use several sheets of newsprint to remove all of the embossing powder. Use a very hot iron and I used a Silverstone finish on the iron. Now stamp and emboss a design on the ironed paper using clear embossing ink and clear powder. Rub a very wet black pigment ink pad all the paper covering the new images you have stamped and embossed with the clear ink and powder. I use the tip of a watercolor brush to hold down the corner of the paper so I don't black pigment ink all over myself...you can also try this using black dye ink and you will be able to see the background images much better, if that's what you want Let dry and again, iron off the embossing powder using a very hot iron and sandwiching the paper between sheets of newsprint After these were completely dry, I applied double sided tape sheets to the back side of the page, cut out the images with scissors and then applied the cutouts to the cardstock . I use a pair of tweezers to hold the cutout..that way I can see better where I want to place it. Legs http://www.picturetrail.com/queenoftexas
